David, I don't test sites on a Mac with IE 5.5 or 6 since Microsoft stopped development at IE 5.2 a couple of years ago. I test my sites with Safari, Netscape, IE 5.2, Firefox, Opera, Camino and AOL. I go to the library and other locations to test on Windows and use my laptop with Windows 98 to test sites. I have an old iMac G3 from Apple I can sell ya! Robin does give excellent advice and I'm grateful for it. Happy New year!

Mike - so ... how do I test my web pages in IE5.5 and IE6 if I am not running Windows?

Actually, Robin passes on some excellent advice here. Following the simple rules given, I have seen hide nor hair of any malware whatever for almost a year now. What's more, being paranoid, I run Norton and other virus and spyware scans on a regular basis.

Of course, if you were to give me a Mac, I'd be delighted :-)

Robin you did miss one very important point. If one got a Macintosh computer, they dont have to worry about spyware and adware. None are made for the Mac. There are very few viruses or worms are made too.
