Standards – Books Worth Buying
There are two books that I would like to recommend to all of my students:
These are both excellent books for learning about XHTML, CSS, and building standards compliant web sites. I have found that they are both very easy to read and provide a wealth of information to the new web developer.
Web Accessibility Tools Consortium [WAT-C] – “a collection of free tools to assist both developers and designers in the development and testing of accessible web content.”
Lunacore – This site has some very detailed Photoshop tutorials. Unfortunately, our firewall is blocking the site in the classroom. Please try some of these tutorials at home.
LifeHacker has an article on How to assign a domain name to your home web server.
I wanted to share Roses A to Z with you. The web site is a joint effort by two former students, Carolyn Parker (the author of the book) and Tony Davis. They have done a beautiful job with the site!

Nice to see the work of former students. We sure have a lot of talent passing through here! Thank you for the link.
It’s also good to see excellent books on web design out there. Two years ago I looked in vain for this kind of information. I can recommend Dan Cederholm’s “Web Standards Solutions” sight unseen. His web site, SimpleBits, is well worth a visit.
