I wanted to share a few more HomeSite features that may help you to get your lessons done faster.

Line numbers: Click the line number icon in the Editor toolbar (vertical toolbar) to turn on line numbering. This is helpful when you are validating documents or dubugging JavaScript and PHP errors.

Edit > Convert Tag Case: If you have a document that has all UPPERCASE tags you can quickly change them to lowercase.

Validating XHTML Transitional – HomeSite+ has the ability to validate documents (although I would recommend that you always validate with the W3C in addition to this built in feature). By default XHTML Transitional is not available, you will need to adjust some of the HomeSite settings to validate your documents for XHTML Transitional. I found this Macromedia article, XHTML Coding in HomeSite, helpful. Once you have setup the validation for HomeSite click Tools > Validate Current Document.

The Tags menu has all kinds of useful tools. For example, if you need to find a closing tag, select the opening tag and click Tags > Find Matching Tags. This is useful when you may have misplaced a tag.

You can also create Image Maps within HomeSite+. Click Tools > New Image Map.

Verifiy external hyperlinks by clicking Tools > Verify Links.

I finally came across an indepth manual/tutorial for using HomeSite+. Please do not print this in class, it is too long and will lock up the browser. Just read it online.
