Field Trip Follow-up

Well, I can’t say that I was very happy with my photos from yesterday’s field trip. I guess it wasn’t my day with the camera and I don’t know that the overcast weather helped. I do hope that you all were able to get some good shots!
But wasn’t Jill and her band awesome?! I have a whole new appreciation for Blue Grass music.
One thing that’s great to photograph on an overcast day is flowers. I decided to head over to Navlet’s to do some floral/macro photography after our field trip. Those results were a little better; I posted a few over on my photo blog.
On Friday we will use Photoshop to work on our photos. That should be fun!
Web-Dev-Bookmarks: a prelude is now available.
LVSOnline.com offers a variety of web related classes. Some of the classes that I’ve enjoyed taking have been: Flash (all levels), digital photography, film photograpy, Xara, Swish, PHP, and digital darkroom. The instructor that I mentioned is Ron Lacey of Ron’s Toons; he teaches a variety of great courses for LVS. Please let LVS know that I referred you. I appreciate those credits.
You can tell them robin ‘at’ putertutor.net sent you.
The really fun animation program, SwishMax, is currently $19.95 at Academic Superstore. You can download a trial version at their web site. I made this opening movie for Rob’s site with Swish. You can see some of the silly homework that I’ve done over the years at the following web addresses:
Swish
November 2002 (most of PHP has been disabled)
2000 Homework
I can’t believe I’m even showing this stuff.
I also really enjoyed learning Xara X; it’s available at Academic Superstore for $79.95. Xara is a vector drawing program that’s super easy to use. I created the TinkerTech logo with Xara.
Both the Xara and Swish sites have trial versions of the software that you can download tryout. They also have great tutorials linked off their sites to help you to learn the programs.
