WebColor-Kit is a web utility for selecting colors for web sites. What’s different about this color tool is that you select a background color and the remaining colors are selected for you and the CSS code that you can use on your site is generated. Pretty cool!
Do you ever wonder what font has been used on a web page or in an image? Identifont® allows you to search for fonts by answering a series of questions. This site has been around for some time, but it’s still useful.
While we’re on the subject of fonts, Mark Boulton has a series of articles on the Five simple steps to better typography. Here is part II, III, and IV and V. These are excellent articles that you should all read.
Before I left town last week I downloaded Photoshop CS 2. This is a huge download, so if you have dial up and you would like a copy. I will burn one for you for a $1 (CD cost).
The CSS Playground has some new CSS examples worth checking out. Some of my favorites: Simple Fluid Drop Shadows, Another cross browser FIXED layout, and Krazy Korners. You will need to view the page source to see the CSS used in these examples.
Stu Nichols has another tutorial at Web Reference on How to Style Definition Lists. This is a comprehensive tutorial on creating menus with definition lists and the results look great!
RichInStyle has an easy to understand CSS2 tutorial. This is a good tutorial for students who haven’t started the CSS unit. I also think that Your HTML Source has a lot of great tutorials including XHTML and CSS.
Finally, for this moment, I found a tutorial on CSS and Dreamweaver. This would be good for any students who are working on the Dreamweaver unit.
