Adobe is Aquiring Macromedia

April 18th, 2005 | 5 Comments | Posted in Software & Freeware Programs

It’s a very interesting day in the world of design and web publishing Adobe announced that they will aquire Macromedia for an obscene amount of money. You can read more about this 3.4 billion dollar “integration” deal at Adobe’s web site. Macromedia also has a press release on their site; I found this press release more enlightening. It looks like this merger will be finalized in the fall of 2005.

There are several articles on CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News. We know the really interesting articles and opinions will show up on the blogs over the next few weeks.

My biggest question is how the software suites will be integrated, since there is quite a bit of duplication among their software programs. It will be interesting to see how this all pans out.
