Saturday Presentation – Blogger
This Saturday I will be presenting at the California Association of Regional Occupational Centers and Programs. I have been asked to present a workshop on creating a simple instructional web site for teachers. I’ve done this type of workshop in the past, but I usually use Dreamweaver or whatever software I’m asked to use to create this type of site. This year I thought the easiest option would be to use a blogging platform because it’s easy to create, update, and maintain.
I’ve selected Blogger as the publishing platform and I’ve started writing my lecture notes/tutorial. I would appreciate your feedback and maybe we can even run through the presentation once in class later this week.
You can find the first draft here http://tinkertech.net/tutor/blogger/. This is rough, but I wanted to start to get feedback now. Remember, this is not a technical presentation…Simple is good. Thanks!

Your tutorial for setting up and running a blog is excellent. As you can see I have started one, but have run into a little dilemma. All my pictures are being loaded in from the top and work their way down. I would prefer the opposite so viewers can scroll the blog naturally. Any suggestions of how to get around this?

A blog is design to show the most recent post first; it’s organized by date. I hunted around in blogger to see if there is a way to adjust the display order, but I did not. Is this something that you will continue to update? If not, then you could adjust the time and date of the post to order the site the way you wanted.
