New JavaScript Unit

January 27th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Class Notes, PHP/MySQL & JavaScript

Due to negative student feedback, I have selected a new book for the JavaScript unit. We will now use JavaScript The Missing Manual, which includes more hands-on tutorials and was written by David Sawyer McFarland, the author of CSS The Missing Manual. Hopefully, students will be pleased with the new JavaScript unit – the explanations seem clearer and there are many tutorials for practice.

Just so that you are aware, JavaScript The Missing Manual was not available when the initial JavaScript unit was developed.

A huge thank you to Talya J. for reviewing the book and submitting errors/notations to me. The publisher’s errata/errors can be found on the O’Reilly Web site. Be sure to print the “confirmed” and “unconfirmed” errors, as well as, the JavaScript assignment sheet.

This unit will be supported by David H. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
